Mason Freund received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical engineering with a concentration in aerospace engineering from the University of Connecticut in 2020. His undergraduate capstone project included FEA simulations of ball stud bearings with a focus on replicating and predicting fracture strengths. His current interests include material characterization of additively manufactured components for aerospace applications. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Materials Science and Engineering department at the University of Connecticut under Dr. Volkan Ortalan.
