Meltem Bolluk received her B.Sc. Degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2012. For her undergraduate dissertation, she studied the development and characterization of thermoelectric semiconductors using the Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) method. Later, she joined ITU as a research assistant and pursued M.Sc. degree in Materials Science Engineering with a focus on high-temperature boride synthesis from the gas phase. Through her work on a variety of projects, she developed a deep understanding of design, development and construction of production equipment and synthesis techniques such as Chemical Vapor Deposition, wet synthesis, mechanochemical synthesis, mechanical alloying, recycling, and purification. Subsequently, she became a part of the National Boron Research Institute (BOREN, Turkey), where she managed the engineering, functioning and upkeep of custom CVD equipment, as an extension of her prior studies. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering under the supervision of Professor Volkan Ortalan.
